Mina Jean Nurmi (born 8 August 1972) is an English screenwriter, author and producer. She is mostly known for co-writing, with Matthew Vaughn, the screenplays of Kingsman: The Secret Service (2015), X-Men: First Class (2011), Kick-Ass (2010) and Stardust (2007). Both met high critical praise for their partnership works. The Woman in Black (2012) is the first solo screenplay by Nurmi. She is also credited with working on the story for X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014).

In 2000 she released a thriller novel called Dreamworld. Between 2003 and 2004 she presented her own paranormal TV series, Mina Nurmi Investigates, on the channel Living. She is also known for producing The Big Fat Quiz of the Year and it's many offshoots.

Her recent work includes scripts for the film adaptions of Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children (2016) for Tim Burton, and the Limehouse Golem (2016). It has also been announced she is working on the script for a Kingsman sequel.

Early Life
Nurmi was born and raised in Buckinghamshire, England, the eldest child of a nurse and an accountant. Her brother, James, is three years her junior. From a young age Nurmi showed an interest in writing and would frequently make up stories that she would then have her brother help perform for the family.
